What's Wrong With "Traffic Calming"?

According to the City of Atlanta, this is safer than bike lanes:

After Atlanta and Houston tied for the "Worst Bicycling City" in the US, I think Atlanta is trying to secure its spot at the top alone.

Hey, this thread needed a bump up to remind everyone to be vigilent regarding transportation issues in their areas.
