da vinci Independent Drive System

Greetngs,

I just read a bit about the Da Vinci independent drive system (https://teamspirit.net/dv2.html) and this seems like a real benefit. When I looked at the prices for their tandems I got a bit of sticker shock though

Do any other tamdem manufacturers make a system similar to the independent drive system? Seems this type of system would be the way to go on a tandem.

Zack

The only other system is ATP's Independent Pedaling Systems or IPS.

ATP's IPS can be retrofitted to any tandem/triplet/quad, etc...

ATP Is the parent company of Vision Recumbents:

The folks who have tandems with daVinci's ICS (Independent Coasting System) or ATP's ICS love 'em but they're not for everyone. The most interesting application I've seen with the ATP IPS is when used in combination with "Kiddie Cranks" such that child stokers on tandems, triplets, quads, etc... can "relax" without putting a drag on the rest of the crew's horsepower.

If you're really interested in daVinci's ICS give daVinci a call and spend some time talking with Todd Shusterman about it. Todd's one of the most forward thinking guys in the tandem biz., a great guy in general and his daVinci tandems are really incredible (albeit pricey).
