CA Bay area resident racers...EB RR 1/27

With all the warnings about icy roads, stories about broken femurs from last year and people saying its not worth risking it this early in the season.... do you think the early bird road race is going to be safe??
I'm not a huge weather wiz, but its been cloudly lately and I haven't seen any frost on the ground like we were having last week when the road were closed in patterson. It sprinkled today and has been quite a bit warmer in the past few days.
My prediction is there should be NO ice.
Comments??
Whos going??

I was super excited about it, but due to weather and SuperCross that day I am backing out. Too far of a drive to risk it for me, just gonna save it all for EB#4.

I'm not going, but I think you'd do well. I'd just sit in and wait for the climb just before the turnaround point. Hopefully, there'd be a small group that could get some separation and work together back to the finish line. There's a small rise up to the finish. Just make sure you don't cross the centerline and get DQ'ed.

Good Luck!

P.S. The broken femur was two years ago.

Probably not. Tomorrow I'm doing the Masters 45+ training ride. Sunday looks like a family riding day. I'll be out on the tandem with my daughter.

I almost didn't go since it was raining at my house in the morning, but it wasn't bad. The road was wet, but no ice and the temp wasn't too chilly. Unfortunately many of the fields were real small.

Ditto to what zvalmart said about the temps and ice. It was a really fun race.
There were 36 people in the cat4 race... not so bad for the weather and the warnings preceding the race. I'm glad I went anyway.
