Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Surly 1x1

I have a chance to get one of these for near cost at my LBS. I looked all around the interweb, it seems like everyone shows their pink 1x1, with a few black ones here and there...which are nice and all. But DAMMIT! I want to see a LEMON LIME ONE! anywho, those of you who have them elaborate on your experiences with them and feel free to post a picture or two of your setup.

Bikes: many

its no lime green but it works.

i didnt really like it too much. It was cool as a crusier/general trail use, but any type of tech riding it just never felt very stable. i just never really got comfortable on it.

Bikes: several. blue. fun.

Mine's a 1st generation-before they started putting disc tabs on it. it's rigid but i have 2.0 tires on there to make up the difference. the gearing is a little hard for me on the trails - 36x18- but aside from that, it's solid.

What I like: ballistic. really f'ing ballistic.
What I don't like: heavy. and i need disc brakes!

in fact, i'm looking to replace it with something more like a Bianchi SASS/PUSS/SUSS/whateverthehell.
