Any Macon, GA folks here?

Hey guys. I am still fairly new to the Macon area. I am looking for someone to do a little riding with. Whether it be MTB or some road stuff.

Thanks,
JD

Hi JD,

Welcome to BF.

I'm not sure if we have any Macon folks but there are a few from central GA (Warner Robins, etc).
Lots of other GA folks here - south GA, Savannah, Atlanta area, north GA.

Lots of Atlanta folks ride mtb at Dauset Trails. Nice trails, and many ways to loop around for hours.

Hey JD, welcome. I live in Atlanta but enjoy road riding in the Macon area. I get down there every few months to ride around the backroads.

Hey JD,

Welcome. I live up the road in Griffin. Ditto on Dauset trails for MTB. They have a great place to ride, although they are closed when the ground is wet.

JD,
I'm from just up the road in Milledgeville. Check our club's sites for upcoming road and MTB rides.
A big +1 for the Dauset trails near Jackson (Flovilla actually). A great place to ride MTBs.

Hey All, I am not new to the area but I am new to biking. I live in Macon and just bought a Trek 3700. Any suggestions on decent non-technical trails in the area?

THanks
Jim

Hello, I'm new here and have just recently got back into cycling about a week ago. I live in Macon. Have been riding daily pretty much. I'm only 16 and can only ride on this 1-mile stretch of rode in our neighborhood but it gets the job done. Thursday I rode 12 miles in 40 minutes and today I rode 10 miles (not sure the time.) I started cycling again to get in shape for motocross, when I get another dirt-bike. But I am starting to really enjoy cycling. I have a Trek 4300 but kind of wish I had a road bike. (Sorry for bumping an old thread.)

Thanks guys. Heres some new gear I picked up yesterday:

Already put ten miles(ran out of daylight) on the stuff and the new helmet and shorts are awesome! I can't get the tire pump to work and it won't mount on my bike either. The headset/earphones is great. I can listen to music and when my Mom or Dad calls I don't have to take my phone out of my CamelBak.
And here's a picture of my bike:

Hi, Tha Breeze. Welcome to the group. I am very glad to see the helmet, but I do have to give a word of warning-- Don't listen to music while on the bike. It is far too dangerous. You will soon find out that you need all your senses while riding.

The bike looks nice. Enjoy the miles and take in everything around you. You will find out that there is much more enjoyment from hearing the natural sounds, instead of the music.
