9spd Camapgnolo chain compatibility...
I have a 9 speed campagnolo drivetrain and am having trouble sourcing a 9spd campy chain where i'm at. Are 10speed shimano chains compatible?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Compatibility is close enough for government work. You would be better off
to use SRAM, for ease of installation/removal but Shimano 9spd will work fine.

Yeah, I read up on them and the difference between a Campy 9s chain and a Shimano 9s was about .2mm in width and most sites say they will work. I ordered a Campy one online, though, to be safe.

Yeah, that's why I specified 9s. 10s chains won't work with 9s cogs as far as I know. They're just too thin.

A friend of mine was running a SRAM chain on a Campy 9-speed triple, only got 1600 miles before the chain was worn out. Her LBS was able to order a Campy 9-speed Record chain, no more problems.
