Khs Dj300

Any experience with this frame? I have found some insane deals online for the frame only.

KHS sucks, and I'm not joking. The reliability of their DJ/Freeride/DH bikes are a bit questionable.

I was just wondering why it's $500 MSRP, and I can find it online for like $120.

It's likely a 2005 or 2006 model.

you can find the dj100 frame for $100 on jensonusa.com
but you'd do better saving for a better frame.

Not too sure I agree with you there, Smashy. Nor apparently do the people here: https://www.mtbr.com/reviews/manufacturers/2577/

Any actual facts to back up your statement?

I'll be racing a KHS Team XC, full XTR stuff hung off it this year. Should be in this week. I'm looking very forward to it. I know someone who raced his Team bike all last year and didn't have any complaints.

Just to point out, that score is from just one review (An idiotic review, at that). Hardly a valid sample of opinions. If you actually look at the link I posted you'll see that, in general, KHS products with multiple reviews (i.e. more than a handful) usually score pretty well.

So, to say that "KHS sucks" (eloquent or what?), just doesn't seem to be fair, or true.

Disclaimer: I have a KHS Flite 800 road frame. Which is sweeeeet!

Up to 2001, I was on KHS bikes. From my own experiences and others, I have seen a bunch of cracked, snapped KHS bikes, not so much on the xc and road side of things, but with the DH/Freeride bikes, the stays tend to break easier than others. It might have changed by now, but I am definately turned off from them.

Ok, fair enough. It sounds like they may have had problems on the DH/Freeride side, but that's fairly different from saying a blanket "KHS sucks".

Just my 2c.
