trackstand bruises

Anyone get bruises on their inner thigh, right above the knee, from grabbing their frame with their knee during a trackstand or other bit of bike control?

I've had a constant bluish shiner on my right knee from the last three days of practicing trackstands on my fixed gear.

Not from fixing, but I get them from my trials bike.

I've gotten bruises from my stem while skidding, but never from trackstanding.

once you get more used to trackstanding you wont have to pinch the top tube with your knees anymore.

I got some nasty bruises in that exact spot from skidding but never trackstanding. It's terrible though, I'm hesitant to wear shorts because I look like a domestic violence victim.

Generally my bruises come from mysterious falls...

i have two fixes, one with a frame that's too big and one that's too small. sometimes the top tube of the big frame rubs up against my thigh when i'm trackstanding (standing up, two handed) and i occasionally use it as another balnce point. never hits very hard though.

i find bruises on my quads, calves, around the knees, etc take longer to heal. i assume it's because i'm working those muscles more, but i don't really know.

I get bruises, but not from trackstanding. I suspect my wife hits me while I'm passed out.

I wasn't trackstanding, but I was going about zero mph when I completely wiped out and received a similar injury, so it must have been a similar maneuver. Can't really explain what happened, just ended up on my back.

For whatever reason this resulted in a bout a 6 inch diameter monster of a bruise right above the knee on the inside of the leg that looked just rediculous, changed colors every day, and I still have to some extent here about two weeks later. Funny thing is it didn't really hurt but it scared people.

I did in the beginning, but the pain quickly taught me how to keep my knee out of the way of my top tupe. You should adjust your form so your toes point outward more, so your knee is less prone to hit the top tube. Your muscles should be sufficient to do all the skidding and skipping you need to do, and I can imagine using your knee for that would be very, very bad for your knee.

Seriously? I have been riding the drops more to get use to it and have not had this problem at all. I am getting some forearm soreness, but no bruises from the shoulders.

i got bruises on that exact spot when teaching myself to skid. i don't really skid often anymore so the bruise only comes back every now and then. as for practicing trackstands, i haven't gotten good enough at them to where i need to worry about bruises.
