Are these pictures real?
My brother just sent these crazy pictures to me.
I figured someone here is bound to have seen them and can shed some light as to when, where, and why.

Every day a winding road
I don't know about these particular pictures (they do look a little suspect). But I have seen video of people doing similar things.
Riding along a cliff line, if you have the experience takes major guts and maybe some stupidity. Popping a wheelie at the edge of a cliff shows major stupidity, no mater how much experience you have.

I knew those pics looked familiar. I saw them in A&S awhile back. Here's the thread.

Not sure if they're "real" but they've been circulationg around the internet for a while. My brother (not a cyclist) sent them to me last month and asked when I was going to do that ride. I told him, "never" since I don't own a mountain bike.

I've had at least two NON cyclists email those pics to me. I think it is there way of saying, "see i told you cycling is nuts." In fact just those guys are nuts. Assuming the pics are real.

Here's a slide show of more of their adventure, and Hans Rey talking about the trip.

And finally, HERE IS ACTUAL VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE PHOTOGRAPHER AND VIDEOGRAPHER shooting and recording Hans on the actual Cliffs of Moher, in Ireland doing exactly what the photos show. Notice that you see the photographer on the ground who took the photo of the videographer in the photo I posted.

So stop all this silly doubting.

But ponder this:
What's the point of the helmet?
Back to Advocacy and Safety.
Yes, the photos are real.

I don't understand why people think there's "something about the helmets."
They were riding their bikes all day; and wearing helmets. You want them to stop and take them off because there's no point to wearing them for one small part of their ride.

In the literary sense, yes they are a real picures.
a design or representation made by various means (as painting, drawing, or photography)
Are the bikers really performing this stunt? That question has already been answered.

Seriously, the helmets were a good idea, just because they were passing under rocks that could have hurt them quite seriously if they had run into the rocks.

Then the photos are not real. I personally have no proof either way. But I know what exploits Hans Rey is capable of. I've heard of, and seen photos of the cliffs of Moher. If you put the cliffs of Moher and Hans Rey together, why would it not be possible to have Hans Rey do as he is depicted doing in the photos, and to have taken photos of the resulting ride?
What would be your standard of proof?

The photos may be real, but the action* is staged and the photo angles such to further increase the drama.
*as in continuous ride action
