Forge bikes

What do you guys think of the Forge Sawback 5xx www.forgebikes.com/forgespecs.html. Is it a good entry level bike for only $300. I looked through the components and they seem to be very decent. It has deore and alivio derailleurs and deore shifters. This would be my first mountain bike and I do want spend too much money at first. The price is right in my range.

What kind of riding are you planning on doing with it? It would be a good starter if you're not going to be thrashing the crap out of it.

The specs look ok for the price, but they seem to only offer one frame size - 19.5". The rider will have to be at least 6 feet tall to fit the bike properly.

Thanks for the input. I do not plan to do anything hardcore with the bike. My main purpose for buying it is so I can ride some local trails with my Uncle maybe once a month.

Forge makes a 17" too.

https://www.forgebikes.com/saw5sl.asp

It looks a good buy for the money, not the best bike, but not expensive either.
The 17" or 19" would be a good buy if they are the right size for you, if not, forge it.

I don't own one, but sure looks good on specs.
