Cateye mounting problems

I have a Cateye AT100 computer, the one with the altimeter. I'm on my second mounting bracket. The electrical contacting surfaces between the computer and bracket are so small they often don't touch. I can be miles down the road and notice the computer is no longer running. So I have to twist it to get the surfaces in contact, only to have the next bump break the contact again. Has anyone made modifications to the computer or bracket to make it more reliable? If so please give me details on your modifications.

It could be that the contact points are oxidized. You might try rubbing the contacts with an eraser (mild abrasive) to polish them up and see if it helps. It helped with my Cateye Astrale.
