I am a 6', 200 lb. rider. Have been on bikes since i was a kid, but i don't know much about the freestyle/park style bikes. Can someone recommend an all around, straight out of the box bike to pound around the streets on or backyard ramp ride?? Just looking to grind and jump around a bit. Thanks.

Wouldn't want to go over $500, but it doesn't really matter if i do. My boys are 11 and 8, just want to show them the old man can still ride a bike!

$300 to $500 is a reasonable range. I have a Diamondback Viper, but it's outdated, like a '98 model, but
it's a racer, not a ramp pounder. Have to put a new sprocket on it now, somehow the 11 yr. old managed to warp it really bad throwing it over a fence.

For around $300 you can get a DK six pack, for the price it is easily the best bike in the $300 range. Wait for some of the others to suggest you some bikes, they'll be more then the six pack, but they will also be tougher.

But it's all up to you.

I would agree, a DK Six Pack is what everyone would reccomend. Then you can use save the other $200 if parts ever break.

i also agree the 6 pack is the best bike for the price.

if you are willing to spend more money, look into the Integral Bel-air, or the Stolen Heater. both as nice as completes get.

Get a six pack. It's better then a Specialized.

Plus those Specialized's look funky and the DK is clean and simple.

You know what? I hear all the time about "this bike falls apart" or "that bike is junk". The majority of of bikes with 100% chromoly frames will stand up to what you'll throw at it. If these "riders" would keep their bearings greased and tight and take care of their bikes, there's no reason for any bike to fall apart. Yeah, some parts will break here and there (usually some bent rims or broken pedals if they're on the cheaper end of the spectrum). I've even broken my share of frames...but after a couple years of serious abuse. Go with a company with a good name and you can't go wrong -i.e. wethepeople, DK, Eastern, FIT, Federal, FBM, 2-Hip, Volume. Just make sure it has decent parts on it.

Yeah a lot of that is mainly true but you I take good care of bikes and the Fit Flow pretty much fell apart on me. That '100% cromoly frame' bent so unfortunatly this isn't always true

I just bought a slightly used 2 Hip Playboi. I've heard good things about the 2 Hip bikes. I don't find the name very appealing, but the frames are made by Solid so I'll give it a try.

Like I said, I've bent my share as well. But does one bad experience make for a sucky company? If that were true, the American car companies would be out of business 'cause the "imports" put them to shame on quality. What pisses me off more than anything is when people talk crap about things they don't know about. Sorry to hear your frame bent. That's something you've personally experienced and you probably won't buy another Flow. That's okay. I wouldn't either. I'd probably go with another company. But overall FIT bikes are probably reliable. People love DK. I had a DK Legacy Chris Doyle model. It was a tank...strong as hell. But I didn't like the geometry. I had a Haro Mirra Pro frame after that. Now people can talk crap about Haro, but that Mirra frame handled so much better than the DK. Who cares that I owned a Haro? Most of the stuck up bikers on here would care. Guess what? I've been riding longer than them. I was doing no handers, 360's, and nothings when they were in kindergarten. Stop making riding about fashion and what's bikes and parts are "in". Stop putting riders down for not having the right bikes. Shut up and ride.
