Retire a Gorgeous Frame?
I have a beautiful old steel road frame that Spicer Cycles redid a few years ago; stripped, powder coated, new horizontal track dropouts. Anyways, it's still in decent shape minus a few dings, except a viscious Boston pothole caused the seat tube to shear its lugging and pop out of the bottom bracket shell last winter. For lack of a better alternative, I had it spot welded back in place by a machinist, but have noticed that one chain stay is ~2-3mm higher than the other. I'd appreciate any advice on whether this frame is still road worthy. I love it and it's a great ride, but I don't fully trust it anymore. Thanks!
P.S.- No idea what brand this frame is, but it's stamped with a SN beginning WE. Not Windsor, but what?

You might want to try out the Classic & Vintage forum. A bit more action there than in framebuilding, I think...
