Didn't you see the SRAM release that came out on 1st of April? It's their new revolutionary integration stuff, kinda to compete against the Shimano Dual control shifter/brakes.

this is a great idea. now i can apply my chap stick with my non-dominant left hand while riding and remain fully in control.
