is this a good deal? Schwinn Le Tour-CL

I sent a message to the poster to have a look at this.
It seems like a good price if it is in good shape and it fits, but I do not know a lot about these. What do you think?

Late 80's or early 90's Schwinn in good condition. It was recently tuned up,so it shifts and stops perfectly.

If it is in good shape, it is definitely worth it.

I have been looking for an earlier model for myself, and the older ones that aren't even Chrome Moly go for $200 with shipping on eBay...

Definitely a good deal if it's in decent shape. As Darwin says, the earlier ones are 1020 straight gauge 18 carbon steel, and in the mid-eighties they all got 4130 butted chrome-moly.

Thanks for the responses.
I did a little more reading and looking at stuff on ebay, and I do think it is a real good deal. But I just bought a 72 Schwinn ten-speed a few months ago and I do not really need another bike (yet) so I decided to pass on it.

I saw this one also and decided to pass on it. It's a great deal, but unfortunately, too big for me.

Looks more towards mid 80s than late 80s. Great price, too bad I am not nearby as it looks like it would fit me.

Yeah, the decals would make it an '86 at the earliest. The '86 Le Tour has double-butted chrome-moly main tubes.
