Anybody here using them? Have some Time ATAC's (don't like em') . Also have the Shimano ?636? (the red, heavy DH/Slalom ones). They are so-so but they weigh a ton. Aardvark cycles has the chromoly Bebops on sale for $99.00 bucks and I'm considering giving them a try.

What's up with Time ATACs WildHare? Thought about getting some myself and losing my Wellgos.

Wildhare, sorry to hear you didn't like the ATAC'S. I love mine!! I was thinking of getting another pair for my other bike. Interested in getting rid of yours. If so which model are they.

What don't you like about the Times? I swear by them and almost everyone I know has made the switch to them. Everyone I know who uses them will never go back to SPDs.

I really couldn't say for sure why, but I just don't like them for some reason. Something in the way they feel. Perhaps I haven't given them enough of a chance.

As far as the model, I want to say the carbon's? 98' models, yellow and black, chromoly spindle...And yes, I will be selling them soon. Probably $40.00 bucks.

Yeah, being a weight weenie myself, I thought of getting the carbons (haven't cleared it with 'her indoors' yet - but I'm working on it).

People I've spoke to swear by them. My SPDs are rubbish in sandy conditions, so I need something less sensitive.

I'm surprised you don't like the TIMEs. I also own Times and I swear by them. After switching from Shimano's I would never go back.

I've never ridden the Bebops, but I have a friend who owns a pair. From what he says they do perform pretty well, but not as well as the TIMEs in Mud. They are very light but the cleats wear out very quickly. Something else to keep in mind is that since the mechanism is in the cleat, the cleats are pretty expensive to replace.

I don't have first hand experience with the pedals. THis is just what a friend of mine hast told me about the pedals.

Wildhare - I'd give them a chance, they take a little while to break in. You can also modify the cleats for easier exit (see www.speedgoat.com), but I haven't found that necessary.

Weasel - Sand and mud will NOT effect these pedals, which is one of the main reasons I use them - lots of mud in these parts.

I think I'm gonna take a look at my shoes before I drop a C note on another set of pedals...Maybe a little more trimming would help. I have some old Specialized Ground Controls that have some pretty deep tread. Maybe they are contributing to the wierd feel?

I bought these pedals in the first place because everybody seems to like them...Now everybody is just re-confirming that they like them.........I'm so confused Maybe it's just me that's wierd

I haven't seen too many people with the Speedplay. They seem very fragile. How do they hold up to the rigors of mountain biking?

How mutch would you sell the Times for Wildhare?

Well, I'm probably not a good judge, cuz I'm not as hard on things as other riders.... but my cousin has had hers (an older model) for as long as I can remember - and the only reason she needs to replace them is because she can't get the cleats for them anymore!

Well MBC, I think you mentioned you were from the New England area and if that's the case then you are a good judge on the durability of a pedal. East Coast riding is all about roots, rocks, and mud. Everything that will destroy a pedal.
