26.0 Quill Stems

Anyone have any experience?

Since I can't seem to find bullhorns (besides Somas) to fit a 25.4 stem I'm wondering if I might as well just switch my stem. I'd like something that still has something of a track look though (i.e. not this). Is there one you'd recommend?

Depends on how long your steerer tube is. If your bike is about a 56 or larger, you should probably have a pretty full range. Smaller and it may bottom out.

If you want a twenny dolla holla, the Kalloys from NYCbikes are nice looking and good quality.

I just found the 3TTT Evolution stem. Should fit, and it has a hinged face which will be nice for switching bars. Think I'm probably going to get it unless there's a reason I don't know of not to.

I used to have this stem. There are two links at the front of the stem that allow you to swing it open. One of my links broke after a few months of use. I wouldn't recommend this stem, or at least these kinds with the link thing that open them. If you want a removable stem, then maybe you should get a threadless and attach it to a quill adaptor.

I only have 26.0 handlebars and stems... I've used the Nitto Technomic, Dynamic II and Deluxe. The Deluxe is my favorite...nice and lengthy, but I ride a taller bike for it... 60mm too, I love the short reach (paired with the height) to keep my posture up.

Does anyone know of 1" threaded quill stems with some elegant rise (26.0 clamp)? I'm looking to put road bars on a pursuit frame and want to kind of mimic the look they use on high end modern track bikes with riser threadless stems. I think having an angled stem looks better than using a regular stem with a long neck, but I suppose those stems are more versatile in the end.
