I'm in Mississippi

It's a little after 10 PM, I'm in my tent looking at the beautiful stars here in Poplarville, MS. I turned on my little computer to just check in and say hi and let you all know that I'm one state closer to the Atlantic Ocean.

I hammered out 74 miles today, got here just before dark, called my sweetheart, set up my tent, showered, and here I am, writing this. It was darn close to a perfect day.

What a great trip and thanks for taking us on it with you, if only virtually. Glad you had a good day, I've been reading your blog, it's pretty good!

I was able to get caught up on your last few days last night. I know it had to be an incredible lift just getting through Texas!!

I especially loved the bit on the Big Red Truck slowing down behind you over the bridge while traffic lined up behind.....just goes to show good acquantices can be made in a matter of just a few minutes.

I think it says a lot about the trip that you're still very excited and jacked up about everything. I hope the remaining miles continue to find you safe.

As a Mississippi cyclist, let me welcome you to our great state. As you know by now, the Gulf Coast area is still digging out from the Katrina disaster, but things get better every day. I have enjoyed your trip journal, and am living vicariously through it, as I aspire to a similar trip in the future.

Good luck, and stay safe! We're rooting for ya....
