I will have some pictures to share. The B&B's internet is so slow I'm not going to attempt to upload any images until we have a faster connection.

F'ing serious. We kicked some ass. It was Panther RGF with 4 guys, and MEBC with 2. We were the only "team" representing in numbers bigger than 1.

I won $19 tonight, and gave it to another rider collecting cash for a cancer research ride he's doing. I'll bet he got $2-300 donated tonight. I felt good. I went to Robeks and got an 800 Pound Gorilla smoothie afterwards.

7/24 - 40.9 miles
Rode thru Channahon, took I&M path to Aux Sable Adjeduct just west of Tabler, then took S. Tabler to 6, west to N. Tabler, north to Minooka Rd. into Minooka. Then took Holt/Shepley back east to I-55 frontage, then took trail back to Houbolt. RRGT back to Black Rd. then thru Beaver Creek Subd. to get home. First 40 miler of year.

7/25 - 15.5 miles total
around home.

7/27 - 14.3 miles
Took JJT from Ingalls Ave. south to Mound and Larkin, then south to 6, Rt. 6 west to Empress/Houbolt, north to Jefferson, took RRGT back north to Black Rd., then back into my 'hood. My last ride for a week and a half due to medical issues (biopsy) but should be back on the bike by next weekend around 8/7 - 8/8 or so. (gotta let back heal up)

7/29, 20 miles
A personal best tonight, I averaged above 16 mph
(16.2 to be exact) on my usual 20 mile after work ride.

I've been stuck at the high end of 15 forever (it seems).
Doesn't matter whether it's a 15 or 50 mile ride.

I'll end the month right at 700 miles.

7/29 no ride, weather wouldn't cooperate!

7/30 45 miles in the AM with the SW club, nice easy one.
now the PM ride was a little more energetic, me and the wife went to ride on hte Akron Bike club ride. After a 14 mile warm-up around the valley, we joined in on the ABC thursday night fast hill ride. Big turn out, 35 mile course with lots of hills. Had a great time and although it's not a race, I was first in after a big attack on the last hill WOO HOO!! Wifes group got shot off the back but still finished only 10 minute behind us! Her ave was 19mph and my group was 21.

Total today of 97 for me (rode out and found wifes group on the road) and wife was 94!

Allegheny Jet, what happened to you one minute you were there and then you were gone? I was looking forward to having you lead me out at the end.

At around 14 miles I told a couple guys that I was going off the back and not to worry about me. I know the area very well since I live about 7 or 8 miles away. I anticipated that the 360 miles crossing Northern PA last Saturday through Tuesday would have really ripped me up. My legs were sore but I've really missed fast group rides and thought tonight would be a good way to loosen up. After catching up to you guys at the start and staying with the pack over the first couple big hills I noticed that my HR was hitting mid-Z5. I did not expect to reach Z5-B then be able to recover for the next efforts. I made the quick decision to race this weekend, based on how I was riding, so I backed off the pace and let you guys go. I then rode over to Everett Rd hill and did two Z4 intervals up it. (2/3ds of the workout I missed yesterday, as we traveled back home from PA.)

Racing season is coming to a close and I'll be back at the Valley ride, Medina Club rides, LEW rides and our email group's night time rides and provide you a lead out, if you hold my wheel.

nice 50 logged this afternoon after having SPIN put a new chain on my bike. I f'd up my other one taking it off to further my OCD issues. I really wanted to "clean" or detail my bike! I guess not knowing how to take off the chain/use chain puller was not a good idea!!!!!!!! a trip to Spin, 15 minutes and my credit card- Back in the saddle!

After dinner 3.2 mile ride with my youngest in the neighborhood (she averaged 10.2 mph!!!) * she is tiny, and is going to be a terror soon! I love it....

Bill, looking forward to it! So, what your saying is... following you next time may not be as easy, LOL! I'll just have to drag you around for 300 or so miles to soften you up.

Just drag me up the hills and then we can work as a team to soften up the group and nail it at the end.

Normal 25 mile loop this AM. Gorgeous out!

Funny, saw two teams (8-10 riders each) on different parts of the Busse Woods MUP.

7/31 35 mile recovery/dessert ride.
This was a ride that makes riding what it is. Spectacular evening, temps 70's, no wind or very little, low humidity and great copmpany. The sights and sounds and smells of summer everywhere. Azur sky, every possible shade of green, the smell of corn in the fields, deer along the woods.
Stopped for our typical evening dessert in Oberlin, there was a band playing on the square, people all spread out on their blankets, children dancing and playing, ballons of every color floating on the air.
Just riding and chatting with the best ride partner possible, it was as if all the cares of the world for one small moment seized to be important.
It was wonderful and as with everything, it had to end too soon!
