Another Vote for EVIL, the clear lexan is way cool. Plus, you can get the one for a dual chainring set-up and you can actually shift. The MRP Long Range Patrol is also nice, but not as good looking as the EVIL.

Is this what you are talking about:

https://www.webcyclery.com/.docs/prod...ct_detail.html

Is it a bash gaurd and chain guide in one? Also, this is the only place I could find it. Is there any other place that sells it cheaper?

Any bike shop can order them for you.
You can also order them from the Evil website.

I have a Blackspire DS1 and it rocks!

Im not bashing evil at all, as i know they're good guides, but there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with how a Blackspire guide works. Theyre burly and a little cheaper than an evil. Plus theyre not as gaudy.
I also have an MRP MiniMe that rocks for slalom.

I used to run a Blackspire NS-1 and a buddy currently uses a DS-1, I find that the blackSpires are louder than the Evil that me and another buddy are running.

The blackspire is going to be a bit noisier than something with rollers. I have used a ton of chainguids and all the ones mentioned above work great.

The reason they are louder id because the chain drags threw the box section and the chain against the plastic is what causes the noise. With a roller system there is almost no noise since the rollers roll with the chain and have hardly any noise or drag on the chain.

Hope that help explains it a bit better than.....yah i have one and it rocks or no don't get that one.

Most of the noise from the blackspires come from the roller. The chain does not touch anything on the top except maybe in the topmost and bottommost cog.
Its the same with the Evils but the Evil is not as loud.
