This is so freakin' weird!!!
There is something really weird going on with my trainingpeaks.com account. I changed my password
last night - or so I thought. Just a few minutes ago, I tried to get into my account and the new password would not work. Hmmm that's strange I thought because I am almost CERTAIN that I changed it last night.
So I go through the process to request the password via an automatic email to the account I signed on with.
I was completely shocked to see that the password had been changed to a series of expletives! I mean really awful stuff in a long series strung together as one word. This happened around the same time I informed my coach (who submits my workouts via trainingpeaks) that I would be discontinuing their services.
The question is who could have changed the password? I can't imagine some random person hacked it. The password was changed to a phrase that indicated someone was really upset. If a coach is signed up via trainingpeaks so their can view their atheletes data, does that mean they can also access my account and change my password? This is really freaky!

Weird...
Sounds like you've already got your suspicions though. Did you email trainingpeaks to ask them about it?

I just barely found out so I haven't done anything yet. I was uploading my workout data while my college chem students were taking an exam...in fact the exam is still going on....we have wireless in the classroom so I can goof around while they suffer.

Ok so I talked on the phone with a guy at TP tonight and he said someone was definitely in my account!
They were able to check the nasty message that appeared as my password and only my account ended up with that. It didn't appear anywhere else or in conjunction with any data on anyone else's account. They also said there was only one person who could have got access to the account in order to do that. Guess who that would be??
I asked about checking logs to find out more details but they told me they don't keep enough records to determine exactly who did it. Seems strange. I thought IP logging was normal. I'll ask about that.

Now that's professionalism. Sounds like ditching that coach was a fine idea.

I mean no changes at all. So maybe he realized I had figured that out. If a coach won't communicate like they say they will and then copies the workouts from VC than what's the point? I can just use VC on my own and spend $129/year instead of a big fee per month for that other person.
kudo's to 'nother for creating the spark in a recent post elsewhere on this board that prompted me to do some investigating...
needless to say this wasn't something I was expecting from a person who seems to know what they are doing and has a lot of good athletes on their roster. But who knows, sometimes people flip out and do weird stuff.
