Anticipation

I'm getting a new (to me) bike very soon.
My father (also a Clyde) decided to go with a new Specialized Sirrus last year, since the positioning was starting to fatigue him on his old bike. The old bike has been collecting dust in the shed since he bought the Sirrus, and because he knows I'll give it a good home, I'm getting his mid 80s Schwinn Paramount.
He's taking it to the LBS to have it properly boxed and shipped within the next couple weeks.

I vaguely remember the bike: White frame, standard Paramount decals... no idea on the components or wheels. I think it's an '86. Maybe. I'm going to call him tonight and see if he can get me the serial number.

I can't wait to restore everything to its original glory and have it out on the streets, even though it's a couple cm's too small. (I'm 6'6", my dad's 6'2".)

Sounds like a good score! What size is the bike?

I'm pretty sure it's a 60, and I usually ride a 62.

I'll post before/during/after pix, depending on what condition it's in. I think most of the work is just going to be new cables/chain/tires/etc. and generally cleaning it up from a year or so of storage.
