I have a 1upusa rack on my Rav, so that when the bikes are off the rack, the door opens right above the rack. You may find a rack that folds out for door access...

While we're on this subject, anyone know of a carrier for a LWB bent on a Toyota Prius?
It is not approved for pulling anything so no hitch is available. There are carriers for DF bikes available for it but nothing that would hold a LWB bent.
I'm in the process of building an aluminum rack carrier that bolts through the spare tire carrier on the bottom, about the only solid piece of metal available to bolt to. I think it should carry the weight of a LWB bent and my wifes carbon fiber DF.

yakima makes two hitch racks with arms that pivot away the fullswing4 and the backswing4.
