Redline Conquest vs. Motobecane Fantom Cross
i'm looking to purchase a new cross bike. originally i wanted over a 1200-1500 dollar bike but i'm deciding to save some cash for the next bike. my biggest concern is the wheelset durability on both models.
redline has been in the sport for quite sometime so i'm thinking it might hold up a little better. I'm very tempted by the Fantom Cross (in terms of conponents) and actually like the paint better (not a fan of the flashy paint jobs).
pleaz no other suggestions but only input on the two choices. any input is welcome not just on the wheelset.
i'm thinking about dicking around with some races this late fall and winter and would like something to hold up to that decently.

I have a 2006 Fantom Cross with 2500 miles on it, it fits me great can be all day on that thing no problem. I will admit the stock wheels on the bike were not so great, Alex DC19/Formula hubs replaced wheels after 4 months after getting bike, always out of true and the rear wheel seal kept creeping off. I have noticed the 2007 models have different wheels thiough. Other than that the bike is is great couldn't tell you about the conquest I looked at it when I was shopping but I think it didn't have a carbon fork and it was more $$. I have not raced yet, but hoping to try at the end of the year.
