thanks, yeah those are IRDs. they work well for me, but don't really have a lot to compare them to. i liked that they came stock with kool stop pads.
the c&o's a great ride, and super flat. perfect for ss.
cheers!

on a sub freezing fixed c&O tour that was abandoned 110 miles in.
a few winters ago. shifters are there because I would run it as a geared bike for triathlons in the summer and I was too lazy to take them off.
being fat and "racing" this one's from the ed sanders race

I've raced with you Vpower. That race looks like Lillipons from this past season, yes? I'm ordering a Crosscheck when I get in the shop today. I'm in the process of selling my current geared steed to fund it. What gearing did you run for that race?
-Good stuff, lets keep this thread going.... Any jungle 'cross pics anyone?

I started out the season with 39 x 16 and ended with 39 x 18. right now I'm doing 34 x18 because I ordered a new crankset and didn't have a 110 bcd chainring for it. Some races felt like 2:1 would still be the best move tacchino, granogue and capital cross classic. the guy that won men's C at the capital cross was on a SS MTB with drop bars running a 2:1
this year (hopefully, he's running behind) I should be riding a custom SS palermo cross bike. I'm still slow and fat, but the rational is that I can't show up on a custom bike and be a chump so I have to train harder or it's a disservice to the bike.

a few "action" shots i took on a very nice ride up to great falls on monday night.
i guess the only relevance of the first three are that i rode my singlespeed to get there (only about an hour ride from downtown washington dc)

I hope to enter in my first CX race this year and if the bug bites, invest in something more appropriate. But for now:
