Calories Per Mile?
Hi everyone!
Does anyone out there know how many calories we burn per mile of riding our bents? I know that there are charts that tell you how many calories are burned up on a regular bike, but since our bents are more efficient they may not apply.
Thanks for info!

calories per mile would also be a function of total weight being moved, hills versus flats, (which could be equalized if average heart rate was same on both) efficiency of bike. I figure mine at 40 calories per mile plus a daily base rate of about 2500. I'm 6'3" and 215 LBS. I figure if I don't ride in a day I burn 2500. Miles times 40 calories makes a 100 mile day 6500 calories. May be a tad conservative but this is about the number I have heard you should use if you do an extended, cross country, trip with multiple 100 mile days. Seems if I match food input to this standard, weight stays the same long term.
