Portland Bike Rentals & transit system
Folks, I'll be in Portland next month for a convention, staying near the Oregon Convention Center. I plan to get a 7-day Tri-Met pass to make longer side trips & such.
How about recommendations for a good shop to rent a bike at? Not sure if I want a road bike or a mountain bike yet. Looks like lots of good places to ride & things to do there.

I was pretty sure River City Bicycles rents, but I don't see any info on their website. They'd be my first recommendation simply because they're easy to find and well known. They're also only about 2 miles straight down MLK Blvd from the Convention Center.
Fat Tire Farm definitely rents...road, mountain, or cruiser. They're a little harder to find, but the bus runs pretty close to them. An extra bonus is they're close to Forest Park, which has plenty of scenic and aerobic, although non-technical riding.
I think most of the rest of the places that rent have only cruisers, but I could be wrong on that.
