New used bike for a friend

One of my friends wants to get into mountain biking but doesn't want to spend much on a good bike. I think I solved his problem. I found him a 2004 Trek 6700, and I don't think it's ever been ridden. Just wanted to get some other thoughts on it before he goes to pick it up.

Well, it all depends on price and fit. that said, I ride a 1998 Trek 8000 and its held up well over the years. I'm not exactly easy on the bike either. Trek is a reliable, well respected brand. If it fits and the price is right, go for it. But don't have your friend buy it if it doesn't fit.

yeah, i know about fits, i'm not particularly new to mtbing. i just wanted to see what y'all thought about the price for a 3 year old 6700. I think it's a steal b/c it's in perfect shape.
