TdF Come-On For 50+ers

Saw this earlier on the BBC news home page but it is now at:
https://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/default.stm

Since it will be gone soon I will copy the lead-in (such as it is):

Elite cyclists have exceptional physiques -
and maybe a paunch

Thanks for finding and posting this article...really interesting

The Journal of Applied Physiology piece is on line at: https://jap.physiology.org/cgi/content/full/98/6/2191 if you would like to see some interesting science about Armstrong. The most interesting sentence in the entire piece may be the one that says:

"As such, it appears that in the detrained state, this individual's (Armostong) Vo2 max is in the range of the highest values than normal men can achieve with training."

It seems that after chemo and surgery and without training, Armstrong was in better shape than most people are with training......of course he did have epo, for what that is worth.

That was pretty good. I did read a lot about Lance Aemstrong in one of his books. Thanks for the article.
