Bikes: 2015 Specialized Sirrus Elite

Uh oh...the sales have started!

Seems like every time I go to the mailbox, there's a flier for a sale at Trek, or Specialized, or Performance Bikes, or whatever. Even the Nashhar site when I went to check out the redesign. I have to put my wallet somewhere I can't find it. All those shiny new helmets, jerseys marked down, you name it -- all the stuff is on sale. About the only thing that hasn't caught my eye are the bikes on sale, and that's the first time for that, thanks to my recent acquisition of Ruby Roubaix.

So are you all out there snapping up some bargains?

Well, I am. I didn't mention that AARP sent me roughly the 100th solicitation today as well.

My wife says if I order any more bike stuff she'll pull a Lorena Bobbitt on me. So I'm not too tempted to buy anything.

Sorry guys, I'm looking for a new road bike. The wife reluctantly agreed. It went like this:
Her "But you just bought a bike last year".
Me "Yeah, but thats a MOUNTAIN bike".
Her, "So ride it on the road".
She's so cute.

Bikes: Eddy Merckx SXM, LeMond Buenos Aires, Cannondale Road Warrior 1000 plus a couple of comforts (Specialized Crossroads and Giant Cyprus) and a beater mtb for around town.

It is even worse than that. I was at a Performance Store (sort of like walking into their catalog) on Tuesday and they were running a noon to 2:00 p.m. "lunch time special" of 10% off anything you bought.....let's see, jersey, riding shorts, tire, chain lube, chamois cream, gloves and almost another set of pedals but they were out of the ones I wanted--no, not the kind that fit Florsheims.

You won't have to worry about the size of the slot in your saddle anymore. Maybe beelz needs to meet someone like your wife. Solve his problems.

I dunno. It could make draining the old prostate gland a bit tricky.

At that point, the prostate is a moot point.

It seems like every time I order from Nasbar or PerformanceBike they come out with a 20% off or free shipping two days later.

But, TWL, by your own advice, were you to be "bobb'ed", you prostate would continue to expand until presumably it burst. The wife must be made to understand....or have you already used this argument on her. Has she taken out any life insurance on you lately? Your own in-home Chernobyl.

Bikes: specialized crossroads hybrid 2006 Raleigh Cadent 2 1971 Schwinn Varsity, 1972 Schwinn Continental, 1977 Schwinn Volare (frame)

Speaking of AARP they saved me a *&^% load money on my car insurance with better coverages even with a teenager in the house. Best thing I gotten from them since I became a junior senior citizen

Ah yes, I remember the 100th solicitation from AARP. The 20th century was a good time....

That's one of the benefits of being single.....no one to tell you where to spend your money. Performance and my LBS have become my favorite places to shop. Even the mall doesn't appeal to me anymore

Performance is opening a nearby store this month and I'm lovin' it

I just picked up my new Trek helmet at the LBS last Saturday and it was FREE. Of course, all it took was breaking my old one in five places in a slight mishap a few weeks ago on a charity ride...
