Hello from San Anselmo, CA

Hi, first post. Been trying to get my 50 year old b@#+ in shape by riding the Bridgestone MB4 around as much as possible. I was in worse shape than I thought but after four weeks I can ride for a couple of hours with no problem... unless there are hills. Around here hills are rather steep and the local mountain is a 2500 foot climb.

Time to get a road bike again! I have been watching Craigslist for a classic road bike and a Kline Quantium showed up for $300. The seller has promised it to me, but I'm never confident until the item is in hand. I haven't found any information on the web yet about the build.

Question: Does this model have aluminum forks? As a 70's kind of guy, I don't trust aluminum or carbon very much. Had a friend win a lawsuit over carbon forks and hospital bills.

Any info much appreciated.

Hello Kurt, a Klein Quantum is certainly a nice bike, but I don't know if it has carbon or aluminium forks. What year is it?

Welcome to BF!

The guy finally called me back. The Kline is equipped with Shimano 600 and he thinks the forks are aluminum. He used it for a couple of centurys but he's not a racer so the frame shouldn't be totally worn out. Hopefully everything will go well and I'll have it tomorrow noon.

Sounds as if you have a candidate for the Classic & Vintage forum there .
