Pedal Problem/ Catching?

I'll start off saying I was riding a 7.2FX with the stock platform pedals. Today on my ride around 10 miles I started to feel a slight thump under my left foot that was coming from the pedal. It was occuring at the top of my stroke. Not sure really how to describe other than to say it kind of felt like someone was flicking my foot where it was on the pedal. I got off the bike and checked the pedal- everything felt good tight and good. The pedal would spin freely when I checked that. I have no clue what this could have been, any help is appreciated.

Have you tried moving the crank in complete circles and tried to move the crank from side to side? I't either the crank is not adjusted right or the pedals not-I think from what you said it's the crank but I could be wrong.

Or the arm could be loose and shifting.

Crank and arm both felt solid, same thing I thought. I'll take it out again tomorrow afternoon after work see if it's still acting up. I'll change shoes as well, just in case it's something catching on the shoe. Although that seems unlikely.

Are you using clips and straps? I have had the straps on mine get twisted and catch on the crankarms and cause something like what you describe, but it happens at the bottom not the top so nevermind.
