I came across a set, a man, and womens huffy team use stickered huffy bikes. There asking 20 each. Any one know anything about these bikes?

If these are the bikes I think they are, they are about the funniest thing ever to come out of the US bicycle industry.

Huffy, who had licensed the rights to use the "Raleigh USA" brand name in the mid-80s, was a major sponsor of the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles (I think it was the '84 Olympics, anyway). Lots of really cool bikes got built by various frame builders, then got Huffy or Raleigh stickers slapped on them before they were ridden in competition.

Huffy came out with its own department store version of the funny bike during this time period. It was hilarious, with a big plastic "aero" cover on the rear wheel, funny handlebars with "U" shaped curves, and a very goofy frame.

As functional bicycles, they pretty much bite. As bits of cycling history, they are well worth $20/each. I wish I could find a photo, but my searches came up empty.

On the other hand, you mention a man's frame and a woman's frame, so these are probably different bikes from the one I am thinking of.

I recently fixed up an old Huffy road bike so I could start cycling. It is a Huffy and it has the word "Marathon" on the top tube. I think it is from the 80's. It is a 5 speed with Shimano eagle rear derailler and a stem shifter with "333" on it. I have no clue what type of brake levers it has.

If anyone know any more about the Huffy line of road bikes please post, I am interested in any findings. The thing I noticed when fixing up the Huffy was that the front fork was rusted half way through on one side. I did not want to risk it craking all the way through, so I I cut it off and welded a new piece of steel in the rusted spots place. It ride very well even over bumpy roads.

I just sold this Huffy Aerowind this weekend. It has the tear dropped "aero" tubes mentioned earlier. Allthough I sold it for way to much money, I am kinda starting to have sellers remorse.

Nice, the stem, brake levers and drop handlebars look same as the ones on my Huffy.

Nice Aerowind. I haven't seen the ladies version since they were new.
Huffy marketed some bikes with a similar paintjob to the actual team bikes, red with blue forks.
Raleigh USA also did some that way, and they're a bit more common, at least around here.

Sweet. What type of rear derailler does that huffy have. Is it possible to find clippless or road pedal that would fit that bike. I would try and find some pedals but I know I will uprade to another bike in the future. That red frame is nice.

I have that bike in pink. Has Shimano Tourney stuff on it. The seatpost mounting is ridiculous

Maybe to you, but from someone who has dealt with more then a fair share of fixing and flipping department store junk on Craigslist, I can say that they have a better chance of tightening correctly then the majority of cheap-o bikes with binders done in the conventional style. No chance of the post rotating either - only a cheap saddle binder to worry about, which one can swap for a clamp-on micro adjuster...

So, I'll answer a few questions at once.

The cheapie TTT bike is mine, I don't have a riders view of the bars yet. I have to do some picture taking soon.
The rear derailleur is whatever shimano made cheapest back in 84. I don't recall the model at the moment, maybe a lark or eagle?

I can post some pics of the actual team bikes, should I put them here, or start a new thread?

The rear derailler may be an eagle. All I can say even though it was cheap back in the day, it still works just as good as it did when it was new. One day when I was riding another cyclist past me with his new low end road bike. His derailler and chain was making so much noise I laughed and thought too myself " my bike is two decades older than his and it sounds as quiet as a mouse."

According to my 1986 Program for the World Championships held in Colorado there is an ad with Greg Lemond on Huffy. The ad says "Greg Lemond will be riding a bike specially designed and hand built at the Huffy US Cycling Federation Technical Development Center. Bikes built there won four gold, three silver and two bronze medals at the 1984 Summer Olympic Games, second place in the 1985 Tour De France(ridden by Greg Lemond) and first place in the 1985 Coors Classic(again ridden by Greg Lemond)."

Now who was building these bikes is a good question? And somehow I just can't remember or picture Lemond on a Huffy when he was battling it out with Hinault in 1985?
