Anyone using HGH (Human Growth Hormone), what are the positive & negatives?

Recently saw a friend of ours who is approaching 50 years and could not believe how great he looked.. He obviously dropped some weight but overall it looks like he is 10 years younger. He said that he had been taking HGH, I looked online and found mostly good info on the supplement..

Just curious if anyone has been using or is currently using HGH? what is the good and bad?

There are a number of anti aging clinics popping up that offer HGH treatment along with others. Looking good is a requirement in Miami so it is even advertised on TV, along with every type of body enhancement you can imagine. However, looking young requires a lot of $ and I would rather put that money into my bike and other hobbies.

OUr growth plates have sealed over long ago. Oh well. We ain't getting any taller.

Perhaps you could google "acromegaly" to get a feel of what might happen if you abuse HGH.

It's my understanding the supplements are mostly snake oil. to get any benefit the real thing is required.

I'm not so sure! I recently had my weight and height checked. Amazing, I grew a half inch. I used to be 5'8.5", now I'm 5'9" even.

Wanna bet there's something wrong with the measuring technique?

Hgh

As a long time professional coach (43 yrs) I will simply give you my opinion for what it is worth..nothing positive will come of it and the potential for both physical and emotional damage is in place. I am not going to lecture just simply say that no matter what the short term "gains" appear to be, the long term potential negatives far outweigh them for me. "Looking good" will be the least of his worries.

I have never taken HGH, but did take Testosterone for three years and it was great for me. Helped with lagging libedo, and several other things.

My current doctor doesn't think I need it. Drats.

Not to disagree with 'farwesthoops', but can you point to any long term studies that validate what you said about long term negatives? I didn't know these things had been studied that long.

I have read articles about East German athletes, but assume those people were given very large doses of what they were told were 'vitamins'.

Personally, if I had the money I would give it a shot, no pun intended.

Maybe if I took some HGH I wouldn't always be in LastPlace!
