Whatever bike I will be using the following day I will store in the living room, and keep the other bikes in the shed.

I would think nothing of it. We lived in a highrise in Houston and kept our bikes in the closet. Expensive road bikes that I did not want to keep in the garage. Swallow your pride and keep the bikes safe and secure out of the elements.

The two bikes that house insurance bought to replace my stolen mtn bike and fixed gear were living in the basement. In the interest of famillial tranquility, these bikes moved out to the garage, but not until I spent $400.00 between locks and an alarm for the garage. That sure showed Mrs.Gurgus. I wonder which bothered her more; Bikes in the house? -Or- $400.00 less in the bank account?
If it were up to me, I'd definately rock one of those wall racks and have the bikes in the living room. I think they would accent the leather furniture nicely.

She might mind if it was in her bedroom
First year we were married I kept my motocycle in the bedroom. It worked great as a place to hang my shirts. That was 32 years ago and am still married to the same women. Go figure.

Wife thinks its an eyesore anywhere in the house...I disagree...but I put it in the garage to keep her happy.

Depends on the living room and the bikes. A rusty dirty bike in a mansion living room would be tacky.
My wife thinks a bike rack would be tacky... so we have them standing in the living room on their kickstands. I don't get it. They could be out of the way on the wall, but whatever. Of course we also have the trailer in the middle of the living room right now - which normally lives on the balcony.

All of mine live in the garage. But don't get mad at me. The garage is connected to the house and I visit them all often.
