Peugeot Serial Number Identification

I would like to find out the true serial number, year, make and model of my Peugeot Mixte.
Here is the info:
These letters and numbers are on the underside of the bike frame by the kick stand screw: 3234957 P18T 53
I also found another set of numbers, stamped on to the rear wheel frame by the wheel axis (?):
Y311 72200

What do you think? Also, any idea on the year? Right now I believe it to be a 1982 P18 Carbolite A103:

Shimano derailleur = 1985
Huret derailleur = 1984

To be specific...

3234956 is the sequential serial number. Check under/around the black cable under the BB for a stamped serial number. In general, but not always with Peugeots the number following the letter, Y3, refers to the year the frame was manufactured. Your frame was manufactured in 1983 for the 1984 model run.

Model is a P18T 'T' refers to the flat stlye handlebar. The same bike with drop bar would be a P18C where the 'C' designates a drop bar. '53' is the size in CM.

No. 1983. Date coding in that way wasn't used in the early-mid 70s.

Pics are worth a thousand words. Frame was made in 1981, April. And for valuations, please use the Appraisals forum @ https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...th-appraisals/

You can't post pics directly until you reach 10 posts. However, if you click the Gallery link under the logo above, then click 'Albums' and create a new album, you can post pics there. Then mention you posted pics in a gallery and someone else can pull them up to show others.

Welcome to the forums. Based on the serial number, it would be a 1981 model, while a ladies' 18 speed would narrow it down to a UO019C, assuming it is a USA model. Value is highly dependent on condition, for which we would require photographs.

Confirmed -- my son's (formerly my) 1980 PKN-10 has serial number starting with B0 (zero, not oh).

I've got my hands on an old Peugeot La Montagne 21 speed mtn bike. I'm guessing its at least early 90s, maybe even 1980s.
Serial number stamped under the BB is 930301409...
Any idea on the year? Could it be as easy as the first 2 digits, 1993?
