I like the photo you took of yourselves using the reflection in the window.
Quite a variety of landscapes / roads - paved, gravel, dirt, mud. salt.....
Beautiful beaches and coastlines!!!
Seems like a fascinating area to cycle tour.
How long was your trip?
Best time to visit?
Would I be able to get by speaking only English, French and Italian.?

Arek,
Thanks for the links! Amazing countryside, and sad in a way to see the collapse of the infrastructure in some of the areas. The archaeological digs were awesome, that is what my son does for a living, but he is in central America.

Trip was 23 days long. W planned about 30, but we had problems with racks.
It is very hard to find someone speeking English and other languages. They speek Ukrainian and Russian (these languages are similar). The use cyrillic alphabet, but they know latin alphabet. People are very friendly and it is safe there.
We were in nontourist part of Crimean Peninsula. South-East part is very famous and thousands tourists invade it every year (mostly in june, july and august). We were in July, near the sea it`s not very hot (ussually no more than 35 centigrade). But inside in Penninsulla this year was not normal burning heat - up to 43 centigrade. I rather recommend May or begining of June, or September - a bit colder . I`m not sure but school holiday are in July-September - it means more parents and children in Crimea.
https://rower.fan.pl/2006_Krym/index.php - photos from touristic part of Crimea from 2006.
Prices (in not touristic areas, in Americna dollars)
good quality beer - 0,60$
bread - 0,3$
fruits and vegetables are very, very cheap
