north shore century ride reports - 09.16.07
miles driven to dawes park in evanston = 40
minutes spent driving to dawes park in evanston = 60
number of keys brought with me to unlock my yakima roof rack = 0
look on my face as i discovered this = priceless
i'm housesitting for my dad for a week so i put my bike on my roof rack last night and just locked it overnight. i actually woke up on time this morning at 5:20, showered, let his dogs out, and hit the road. i spent the hour to drive to evanston, spend another 10 minutes finding a parking spot, and after realizing there was nothing i could do about my locked roof rack, turned around and drove another hour home.
while i could have called my wife to come meet me half way or something, i didn't really want to bother her at 7:00 in the morning and bug her to drive 30 minutes to give me a key. i ended up doing 50 miles around my dad's house in the wauconda/tower lakes/hawthorn woods area.
needless to say, i'm definitely putting an extra roof rack key in my glove compartment...

That sucks. Hope the rest of you guys had fun.
I'm waiting for the energy ball to wake up from his nap so that we can fire up the trailer now that it's warmer.
