I realize that commuters ride twice a day, but for those of us who don't commute, I just wonder how often you get out and ride more than once in a day. For me, it's probably once every couple of weeks I get a morning ride in, and then can squeeze something in for the evening. I find that rather special!
So, I think I'll go head out right now for a few miles.

I ride twice a day frequently due to time constraints with my part time job. For example, today I rode 25 miles over a long lunch hour and 25 miles tonight with friends for a total of 50 miles. Many a day, I get 40-75 miles by riding twice.

I think I've done it three times this year.

Sometimes, I've commuted to work & back (8 miles RT) then get home & my wife says "let's go ride" so I get another 16 miles or so. But the weather has to be nice, it has to NOT be so d*mn hot, I've got to have enough energy & not need to eat dinner right away, etc. I like the extra miles but don't have that much opportunity. If I'm really energetic, I can ride early in the morning then come home, shower & commute in to work. That happens once in a blue moon or when I'm training in the couple of weeks before a longer weekend ride.
Working full-time & getting more than 20 miles a day riding is pretty tough, in my experience, simply from a 'time available' standpoint.

I still work full-time so once a day is about all I can manage during the work week. Saturday is about the only day I'll ever do more than one ride. I ride the park bike program on Saturday morning and sometimes go out again in the afternoon for a ride.

Only when I got my Kaitai last April. Once was the test ride and once was when I got it home.
I don't know that I'd count the test ride of the Cannondale and the LeMond I took just this past April even though, technically, they were on the same day. Hey! What is it about April, I wonder?

Almost never. My rides generally range between 30 and 55 miles. After that, I'm done for the day.

Took the Escort to have wheels rotated and balanced and to check out a slow air leak this morning. Rode singlespeed Cannondale home 5mi. 4 hours later rode Novara Big Buzz 5 mi. back to tire dealer. This evening, before it got dark, rode about 10 mi, including some small hills, on the RANS 'bent.
Only rode once yesterday, 16 leisurely miles on a group ride with the wife on our KHS tandem.
4 bikes in two days; guess I'm not stuck in a rut.

Aside from the usual commute I never do. Too much else going on. When I was in college, one semester - back in the stone age I rode twice a day, once at lunch and once at dinner. I lost 70 lbs that semester. But that was another day and time. BTW - that was a Raliegh Grand Prix a real 10 spd. - my one and only white bike.

I do it several times a month. Sometimes weekdays, but more often on a Saturday. I'm fortunate in what I do and where I am right now in being able to either show up at the office later, or take a 2-3 hour break in the middle of the day for lunch.
Its not unusual for me to leave my office at 11:30, drive home and by 12PM I can already have 3 miles down and be on the edge of town, do 15 or 20 miles (sometimes 24) and shower, quick snack, and back to my office before the afternoon mail gets there. Then I might go again in the evening with my wife or perhaps alone. I pretty much don't do power lunches any more and like to keep the middle of the day free. In the summer its not yet too hot, and in the winter its usually warmed up a little.
Sometimes, in the summer, I may ride before going to the office and again in the PM.
But I'm more likely to ride twice on Saturday than any other day.

Sometimes it works out that way. Not really a common occurrence, but not really a rare one either.

I supplement my daily commute with a nooner...usually 1.5 hours exploring the city neighbourhoods, and when at the cottage, I usually do 2-3 hours XC on the home trails and a quick 75km road loop before dinner

Well, I'm a commuter, so I ride twice each workday. I have a question - what constitutes a ride? If I stop off at the dry cleaners on the way home, is that two rides or one? When we are on Ocracoke, the dialy schedule is ride to beach, ride to lunch, ride back to beach, ride back to the hotel, ride to dinner, ride home. How long must one stop for it to be considered a second ride?

I guess I ride twice a day. I ride to and from the train every day, (which is only one mile, one way) and try to get out on the road bike in the evening. Occasionally on weekends I will get a long ride in, in the morning. Then pull out the MB in the afternoon and go for an easy cruise with the GF.
