Check out this new really compact folding trike

This is a new folder that I found that is quite affordable for a folding trike $1575. Check out the links above and you will see how compact the little thing actually folds. I am quite impressed with what they are able to offer at that price. It looks like we can thank Mexico for the price break.

Some guy in Santa Cruz, CA has/had one, and did not like the quality, from what I remember. I think he said it wasn't stiff enough when put into trike mode. You may want to see if they offer a money back guarantee.

If folding trikes are your thing, I think, on paper, Greenspeed offers the best bang for the buck. HP Velotechnik and most other competitors are way too cost prohibitive or don't import to the US. You can also get a fairing kit for the Greenspeed and turn it into a ghetto velomobile for another grand.

In the folded views, the large rear wheel seems to vanish and the 20" front wheels seem to shrink to less than 15". Did I miss something?

They are not my thing. I just thought others here might be interested in knowing about other compact folding machines. Personally I like the decreased rolling resistance of just two wheels.

That's a pretty interesting cumbent... looks cool when its folded too...

DAN: I was riding along with one last weekend (also a tri wheel recumbent, very very low to the ground)... and I voiced my concern about the rolling resistance...

His opinion was that it had less wind resistance, but it does not totally offset the rolling resistance...

He was going pretty damn fast!

Yes, my favorite feature is the disappearing wheel when folded. If they could sell their patent to Dahon, they could make a fortune. I also quite like the bizarre shot with the cheerleader coming out of nowhere.

It would be great to see a bent bike that could actually fold like that though!
