Cantilever/Brake Compound Question
This may belong on the the mechanical forum but I will start here. The pads on my cantis say "for aluminum rims" and I replaced the cantis and pads with new ones. Are generic pads that came with the replacement brakes OK? I can always scavenge the old ones as they are unused.
I read the links on canti adustment but am a little confused on how the canti arms should be set. Looks to me like the idea is to get the arms vertical/parallel to the wheel with no brake tension, then set the pads accordingly(for best mechanical advantage?)
