hello!

well, i'm super excited because my tri bike arrived in the mail yesterday and i got it all assembled today! i got a great deal from SBR! originally, i wanted to get a orbea ora from my LBS because they were on closeout...but they sold the last one of my size two days before i got there. then i thought about getting a cervelo p2c from my LBS on closeout...but they didn't have one my size. so then...after discussing possible options with my LBS, they pretty much told me i should probably order from SBR because it was just a really good deal.

anyway...here she is! my DA equipped 2007 Cervelo P2C! still have to get pedals...and a bottle cage. eventually, i may get better wheels. i still have to get fitted because my fitter wasn't available. can't wait to test her out!

so...i've been comparing it to my 2007 Specialized Roubaix Expert Compact Rival. i think the P2C actually seems heavier. so yeah...i think i'll get lighter wheels. where else can i shave weight without spending zillions of dollars (because the wheels will probably cost zillions)?

Don't worry about the weight. Weight is .009% of speed. ou have a super fast bike. Get comfortable on it, get into a fast position, after racing a few times on it loook at some aero wheels. I recommend Hed 3s.

Don't sweat the weight, tri bikes for the most part are heavier, it's a trade off for the aerodynamics, trust me the aero benefits outweigh the weight differential. It's been said a thousand times but the best way to shave weight is to lose it off your body first, then start working on bike weight, waaay cheaper

i'm trying to GAIN weight and get cut...you know, for the ladies! yeah...i'm pretty skinny. if i lose any weight, you'll see me in those international aid commercials in tattered clothes and covered with flies.

Well then, I think you have the bike covered, faster engine required!

I hate you too. I'm not sure you got the memo, but the 2007 Cervelo P2C frames had a recall on them due to faulty, um, something bad, i think... Anyhoo, this means you're going to have to send it to me for safekeeping. [and what size is that again?]

See I started with a Felt S series, now I have a Dual, and can still dream at night of something better.


If this reaks of jealousy, well, yeah, guilty, its really nice.

nyc...i live in michigan but i placed an order over the phone. actually...i had a bad experience with their customer service in this transaction...and i was worried something would be damaged because the way they shipped it was poor. but everything came in perfect shape...i got the customer service problem worked out.

the best part though, and the reason i ordered through them, is their closeout price was very good!

nonsense! just like women and cars...they get old...so in a couple years, i'll want a younger, newer bike! not to mention...bikes like the felt da, specialized s-works transition, etc!

the new stuff that will come out in a few years.

i FINALLY went and got fitted for my tri bike today!!! i took it out for a short 40 minute ride as soon as i got home. it feels great! i had read that it's awkward and less stable feeling in the aero position, but it felt fine to me! as long as i wasn't trying to whip around sharp corners, it's great! i have the saddle in an aggressive aero geometry...but my aero bars are set at a slightly more intermediate angle...though i did have the aero bars pushed in towards the center for a more aggressive hand position. the bike flies pretty good! i can't necessarily FEEL the speed difference or the difference in muscle group usage...but it was a short ride. i have to say though...my specialized roubaix road bike has much better acceleration...but i guess that's to be expected...it's lighter and i'm able to use my hamstrings more in road bike geometry.

here's what i did NOT expect: the cervelo p2c feels smoother and more comfortable! it eats up small road bumps like a luxury car! that was a big surprise...the specialized roubaix is considered one of the more "plush" rides, with it's all carbon frame/fork/seat post, zertz inserts, relatively neutral geometry, carbon weaving and bike shape to soak up vibrations before it reaches your hands or butt. but my initial impression is that the p2c is more comfy! me likes!

course...now i'm wondering if my roubaix needs a re-fitting or a better seat...i mean, i just expected the roubaix to be a more comfortable ride!

I also have a P2C just bought earlier this year (2006 model - blue/black/white). Great bike but I think it does need to be upgraded to better wheels (when I have finished paying for the bike). Have done 1/2 ironman at Gold Coast and it performed well; just under 2hrs 40min (better than I did).
Have not done much climbing with it - leave that to my old Specialized Elite (alum frame/carbon forks/105/ALX270 wheels). Not sure if the ALX wheels with the bladed spokes perform better than the Easton Vista wheels on the P2 - still doing research as to what wheels to get.

i'm thinking used zipp 404's...but i think the stock shimano wh-r550 are fine for now. it's not the wheels slowing me down...it's me thats slow me down! lol

i just got my roubaix refitted...yeah, the roubaix is a plusher ride. but the cervelo is still darn comfy, in my opinion!
