Waazzzup from Houston Tx

Hello all, I am new to biking. I did alot of riding as a kid but havent ridden much as an adult. I starting riding recently for excercise and loved it. I quickly realised that my cheapo MTB from Wal Mart wasnt going to cut it so last week I bought a new 2008 Haro Flightling Comp. I love it. I like to ride both on and off road.

Hi five-0, do you love old cop dramas, or is there another reason for the username?

Welcome to BF!

Oh! It's always nice to see another LEO here .

Do you get to do any bike riding in the course of your duties?

I dont use the bike on duty just yet. We have a certification course coming up in December and then I will use it some on patrol. I am currently the nightshift Sergeant, and then sometimes I ride a police motorcycle.

Cool...there's a few other LEO members who get to do bike patrol... . I get the impression they enjoy it. I know when I talk to the officers who patrol locally on the trails it seems that they would rather be out riding too.

Used to ride with a couple of Dallas' finest. It is a nice feeling to know that someone in the paceline has a badge and gun in their saddlebag!

Welcome to bikeforums and thanks for laying it on the line to keep us safe.

Wow. I just rode a trail down here called Jack Brooks and it was more than I bargained for. Definatly not a trail for beginners. Fun but very intimidating.
