Bicycle with motorcycle shell

I don't know if anyone remembers these, but they used to have kids bikes with plastic shells on the outside t make them look like motorcycles. Does anyone know if they still make these? I'm sure they were probably terrible, but I'm curious nonetheless.

Thanks,
Ash

I'm sure I would have enjoyed one when I was the right age! So did you ever stick cardboard in your spokes to make a motor sound?

I sure wouldn't want to foster an interest in motorcycles in my kids by buying one of those, but I think they look pretty cool! (I'm a former motorcyclist, so I'm guilty of "do what I say, not what I did.")

I agree. Thats why I will buy my kids the real thing. But they will stay on the dirt until they are a bit older.

You beat me to it!

My feeling is that the best time to learn to ride a motorcycle is when you're a kid.
That way you'll be a better rider as an adult, whether you ride alot or not.

I've recently taken my 7 yr old out on our tandem recumbent trike with the 2 little sisters in the trailer.
I let him drive.
Yes, I let my 7 yr old Captain the family tandem rig with little sisters onboard.
He's quite capable of stering and braking appropriately. I pedaled from the backseat and used the 3 speeds controlled by the Stoker.
We stuck close to the neighborhood and didn't take really busy streets, as he's kind of new to "driving".

He took to it like a fish to water.

Which is good! If he's gonna be a safe driver when he's 16, I have to start now.

(so he doesn't do what I did)
