So, I'm nearly ready to build my R20 Nexus 7 Wheels....

I just need to order my spokes. Two questions. The bottom image shows Rudy's cunning way of lacing 36 spokes into 48 holes. I'm making this 3 cross - am I right? I need to make sure I'm ordering the right lengths. I'm also having trouble finding black spokes in the shorter lengths required for the rear wheel (big flange on a Nexus). We're talking here about 164 and up (front wheel spokes in black - no problem). Does anyone know a UK source for such spokes? I can get then in stainless, so if the black is unavailable, never mind.

I have only built 36 hole 3 cross wheels with 36 hole rims. That being said this looks like it is more than a 3 cross pattern to me.

The spokes that end on a blue node are on one side, and the yellow on the other, hence it appears to be crossing 6. Must be 3 then.

They'll be pretty wheels! Can't help you on the spokes thing - I've tried (and failed) to get short black spokes myself in the past.
