What would you pick? Ill be doing mostly xc some jumping alot of mud.

Can u get the tioga XC or DH tyre in 2.3? if u can i would probably say thats one of the best for the dosh

I like my Continental Vertical Protections. They have prevented Flats for the 200 miles I have on them so far. Have good grip in all conditions. I might look for a 2.1 Explorer instead.

WTB makes IMHO the best gripping tires out there.

I agree with Hunter with all the different tires I've tried, and I've tried a lot, I keep going back to my cheap WTB Velociraptors in 2.1, for a good all around tire. I've have the Mutano raptors on my single speed and will probably get a set of Moto Raptors for muddy conditions.

I also like Maxxis Tires.

I've heard and read very good things about Intense Tires, but haven't ever ridden a bike with them on, and I'm hesitant to buy a set without touching, feeling, testing em out first.

Another nod for the vertical protections.

I like the Maxxis Mofo's. I rode them for a few months and I found them to be a very good all round tire with plenty of bite for cornering and minimal rolling resistance.

I have a set of Specialized Team control in a 2.2 that seem to be better than what I give them credit for. No slippage, even on wet pavement. and grip like mad in off road conditions. not great for street, but better than most.

another vote for Conti verticals, but only as a rear. I use a WTB weirwolf (2.5) on the front.

My personal chioce would be the Nokian NBX 2.3's. They are, IMO, the best all around tire and they do a fair job in mud. If you want to check them out go here ;

The 2.3 are listed under FR tires, 2.1 & 2.0 are the xc version and the 2.5 is the DH version.

I use the WTB 2.5 Wierwolf, front and back. This is so far one of the best tires I have used for the terrain here in AZ. Also, I'm not quite sure that they are true 2.5's as the Panaracer 2.5 FR's I have are noticably wider.

I like the nbx and 2.5 weirwolf.
