As we said on Saturday, winter storm, well I waited to snowblow until Sunday, no problem. Only thing I did'nt completely clear the driveway & sidewalk, waited until today. First thing I try to do this morning is back my van & cargo trailer out so I can finish up, now the trailer weighs about 5800#s today, so while backing it out the back end of the van slides sideways, now I jockey it around a few times and now the trailer is halfway off the drive & on the side lawn & of course I'm stuck! I get out of my van to do the walk around & see that my boy left his winter beater bike lay on the lawn, you guessed it, under the trailer, smashed to hell & of course wedged tight. Now the the F-bombs are starting to fly! So I go get a snow shovel & start to try shoveling the snow out from all the tires, Damb snow froze as solid as concrete!!, F-en plastic shovels, trudge back to the garden shed & get the snow blower & a steel shovel. First thing, I get the bike out from under the trailer, amazing how far one can throw a large mountain bike when fired up.

Now I shovel out nice smooth trails in front of all tires invovled in the fun, looks good to go, get back in the van, put it in gear & can't move it an inche! F-en winter, F-en snow, F-en F! So I go to the garage & find some plywood, cherry plywood and slid it in front of the rear tire, Shot out like a rocket going to the F-en moon! I'm starting to run out of Fs by now! Well I shoveled some more & some more, finely I get the van & trailer out & park it on the road, Now of course the wife is watching all of this out the livingroom window,
I don't know if she is laughing or watching to see if I have another Heart Attack!

Now starts the other big job, chopping the F-en frozen snow into chucks & wrestling the F-en snowblower to clear it. Two & half hours later, sweating like a pig I get done. All I can think is Winter really doesnt start until the 21st! Going to be a long long F-en winter!
At least I got my new Jersey today! God I can't wait until spring to get the bikes out again

I'm loving it !

Good hard pack of snow on the ground plus more snow on the way should make for some great early winter XC skiing. 6 inches on top of this boiler plate will be awesome. I've got a gravel driveway, so I usually don't bother shoveling unless it's >8" (except where the snowplows pile it up by the road) ... I just pack it down with the car. It's not slippery to walk on and the car doesn't slip with those Blizzaks on it.

It's all good.

Wow. Although it sounds like a wretched pain in the ass, I'm glad to report that I laughed my ass off at work reading this. I know karma will get back at me, but this was just a damn funny post!

Pulled the snow blower out of the shed and did the quick check over. Dumped some dry gas and Marvel Mystery Oil into some gas I had sitting in a can from the mower season...filled the blower tank...primed it...turned the key...set the choke...pulled....



....and it started on the first pull.

Got paid back when the snow kept coming down so fast that when I was done it didn't even look like I had done anything....*sigh*

We were only supposed to get 1" of snow but it looks like we got much more this morning. I'll be out clearing the driveway after work.

And I thought my situtation was a lot worse. My bike fell on it's side and stuck on ice. I keep it outside covered with tarp but water froze on some pockets formed by the wind gusts. Tarp was torn when I tried to right up the bicycle so I decided to just leave it on it's side until the weather warm up a little. No cycling for me
this winter for now until I get the bike unstock.

A bucket of warm water will free that bugger up in no time.
