Bicycle Repair Man !!!
The powder was the easy part... fitting the Dawes with 24 inch by 1.5 wheels required that the chainstays be widened and the bridges had to moved, I also customized a 26 inch mtb fork to allow for the wheel size and quick release, and built the new rear wheel with an AWC hub.
The powder is pretty amazing... I partnered with another small local shop when we can't do things in house and the turnaround was 24 hours.

I also tapped the mounts for the chainguard and made new mounts for the fenders.
Issue with the Dawes is that they came fitted with a French 500A rim and although you can find tyres, finding the rims is a much harder proposition that will only get harder over time so we went with a fairly standard wheel size and tyre so that years from now, replacement will be easy to source.
I built this for an 11 year old girl with the expectation that she will be riding this bicycle for a very long time...

I don't have a final "after" yet...but you get the idea.
Needs a proper top cap on the headset and I need to finish putting it together... Will get some tan wall tires and white bar tape. Build is polished Chorus 9 speed, polished Cinelli stem and bars, polished Campy 50th seatpost, Brooks Pro, Campy Athena? hubs laced to Campy rims.

Not that I can match what you guys have done by a long shot, but after spending about $50 total, I've taken the old Bay Pointe from this:
Dull paint, rusty chain, rotten tires, rusty rims, slightly stubborn Shimano 3S hub and butt-punishing Persons saddle ...
to this:
I gave it a good cleaning of both paint and chrome, really worked with the chain to get it freed up and rolling smoothly (it worked), put new tires and tubes on it (Michelin World Tour ... my #1 choice, love 'em) and gave everything a thorough lubrication. It's nothing fancy, but I enjoy it!
