Ride backwards sitting on the bars or ride backwards sitting normal? I can't do it sitting normal, but if you want to sit on the bars and pedal in the normal direction, you just have to steer opposite the direction you naturally want to. You have to make your brain fight your arms/body and you'll get it.

Actually, I should learn that one too. But I meant sitting normal and going in reverse.

I found that I learned backwards circles after I learned riding backwards in a crooked type line. The trick is too keep your body centered and balanced over the bike during the full rotation. It took me a few days to learn but once you get it, it becomes really easy. Make sure you can do a track stand first and start in that position.

practice...stay on bike...practice more...stay on bike lonoger

really tho...smoke a spliff and just go out there and keep at it...takes getting used to to get comfortable with the balance, how much you have to lean, etc. , but just keep at it little by little

backwards circles are easier, but riding backwards will make your backwards circles much better anyways

completely straight is harder than weaving/circles. but no-handed backward circles is easier then with... atleast in my experience. weird huh?! i guess cause with no-hands all my weight is towards the back. i have a pretty lengthy saddle-to-bar drop. definetly easier when i put the risers on for handed tho.

backwards riding is useful when you start to get out into an intersection and then realize that you don't have it -- you can go backwards a bit. but unless you are riding a polo bike, half a crank rotation is generally enough.

if you can skid into a trackstand, then backpedal just a little bit, then you've got all you really need. once you've done this (useful) thing for a while, you might try ****ing around doing (useless) backwards circles sometime. I did my first one ever on 2nds ave at 23rd street once, after doing aforementioned halfway jawn. I had room and I decided to keep going for ****s and giggles.
