Ccycling US 50/Nevada.

`I recently got back from a cycle tour of Califronia's Central Coast. Had such a good time, my mind is constantly planning for the next. Think I have decided upon U.S. 50 from Lake Tahoe to Utah.
It is called the "Loneliest Road in America." Anyone completed this ride.? This is real outback! Think best month would be mid-May- weather wise.?
What about issues like lack of campsites or hotels, within rideable distance for any given day? Anyone having done this or know of someone who has- please give you your impressions or advice. The largest city on the route between Carson City and Utah is like 8,000 people. Real Old West, here. Bike lanes appear to be pretty good? Traffic? Thanks.

I think Adventure Cycling just had an article in their magazine on Route 50 through Nevada. It was pretty good.

Yeah, Gus I read it. I knew of it (the ride)before. Story did not answer my questions about being in desolate territory and lack of facilities?? Looked for email of author, not given. Thought maybe someone have their personal experiences that they could share.

Before you do it read Steven Kings' Desperation.

It's only a story, it's only a story.
